Sing a new song about the new things that the Lord has done! Let the whole world sing to the Lord.   Psalms 96:1

Lord, they get new strength from the good things in your house. You let them drink from your wonderful river.   Psalms 36:8

"There is hope for a tree. If it is cut down, it can grow again. It will keep sending out new branches."  Job 14:7

New life & a new hope...

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God has great mercy, and because of his mercy he gave us a new life... This new life brings us a living hope through Jesus Christ's rising from death.   1 Peter 1:3

Why? Because I will do new things! Now you will grow like a new plant. Surely you know this is true. I really will make a road in the desert. I really will make rivers in the dry land.         Isaiah 43:19

New Year's

01/01/2014

My soul sighs...'All things made new', every thing... each new day... for always... sounds too good not to be true... Sigh!

And He who sits on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." And He said, "Write, for these words are faithful and true."    Revelation 21:5

That my heart may sing to you and not be silent.
Psalm 30:12

Of the rituals mentioned in the bible, different kinds of sacrifice? Familiar are the Old Testament stories of sacrifices offered on mountaintops and atoning burnt offerings on hills, Hosea 4:13. But until I looked closer...in a way, stopped and smelled the Psalms... I read right over other kinds of sacrifice. Look closer with me...
Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the Lord.  Psalm 27:6
“Listen, my people, and I will speak; I will testify against you, Israel: I am God, your God. I bring no charges against you concerning your sacrifices or concerning your burnt offerings, which are ever before me. I have no need of a bull from your stall or of goats from your pens, for every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird in the mountains, and the insects in the fields are mine. If I were hungry I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it. Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats? “Sacrifice thank offerings to God, fulfill your vows to the Most High, and call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”
Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of his works with songs of joy.               Psalm 107:22
Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor me, and to the blameless I will show my salvation.  Psalm 50:23
